Kissing & Möllmann
|
This is a scene at the rear of the former bronze foundry and manufactory of Kissing & Möllmann in Iserlohn.
Despite the condition of the building in this photograph, it is still in use, with this alleyway giving access to at least one house. The main building, and presumably this area too, do have protected status (Denkmalschütz). This image shows the main frontage.
We were particularly intrigued by the narrow gauge railway, as it is too steep for tubs to be handled by manpower. Would there have been a small locomotive, or perhaps rope haulage? It's the only remaining bit of track that we found, but it could have been more extensive in earlier times.
