Makò
Founded in 1865 by Guglielmo Raetz, the Makò spinning mill, is one of the most impressive industrial sites in the Pordenone region. It was specialized into the manufacture of Makò cotton (also called Egyptian cotton). In 1940 it merged into Cantoni Group, one of the most famous Italian cotton-industry company. In the 50s it employed 2000 workers, as one of the biggest cotton mills of Northern Italy. It is closed since 1989.
