Lokschuppen BW Aschaffenburg

Die ?ltesten Teile des ehemaligen Betriebswerkes Aschaffenburg stammen aus dem Jahr 1893, darunter auch der hier gezeigte Lokschuppen. Bis 1957 waren in Aschaffenburg 107 Dampfloks stationiert, die hier betriebsbereit gehalten wurden. Danach wurden noch Elektro- und Dieselloks gewartet, ab 1975 nur noch Dieselfahrzeuge. 1988 wurde das BW komplett stillgelegt, seither verfielen die Geb?ude. Eine B?rgerinitiative zum Erhalt der Geb?ude scheiterte 1991; Anfang 2004 wurde das Geb?ude abgerissen, um Platz f?r eine Ringstra?e zu machen.

Railway Maintenance Shop Aschaffenburg
The oldest parts of this facility date back to 1893, including the building shown. Until 1957, up to 107 steam engines were stationed and kept running in Aschaffenburg. From then on, diesel and electric engines were serviced here and from 1975 on only diesel engines were maintained. The facility was closed in 1988 and the buildings started to decay. A citizen's action committee was formed in 1991 in order to preserve the buildings but failed. The building was torn down in early 2004 to make room for a beltway.
