Star Brewery

The former Star Brewery of James Shipstone and Sons is a listed building and is still partially occupied by a firm of auctioneers. Nottingham boasted two large local breweries until takeovers in the 1980s saw the end of brewing in the City. There is now one small private brewery (almost a micro-brewery) which has developed to fill a niche market for real ales.
Die ehemalige Star Brewery liegt unter Denkmalschütz und wird zum Teil von einer Auktionsfirma noch benutzt. Bis in die 80er Jahren prahlte sich Nottingham auf seinen zwei grossen Brauereien. Wegen bernahme von grosseren Firmen kam die Brauindustrie in Nottingham zu Ende. Heute gibts nur noch eine kleine - fast micro - Brauerei die die Nischenmarkt für traditionelle Bierarten noch dient.
