Rugeley's last days
Rugeley 'B' power station opened in 1970 and generates 1000 Mw of electricity. It was originally supplied with coal from Lea Hall Colliery which occupied the land behind the buildings in the foreground. The colliery closed in 1991 and now the power station is due to close in June. Judging by the size of the coal stack the closure may come sooner.
