Semla III
|
The Semla mill near Fagersta dates back to the 14th century. The first power station in Semla ("Semla I") opened in 1897. It has been demolished. Semla II has closed, but the building is preserved.
This is Semla III opened in 1910. The station has three turbines powered by water from the Kolbäcksån river. Two turbines were installed in 1910, while the third (located in the concrete extension to the right of the powerhouse) was installed in 1988. Water is fed to the turbines via three 180 m wooden tubes.
