Itaipú Binacional
The Itaipú Binacional power plant is the biggest power plant on earth according to the yearly production. Since 2006, there is a bigger one in China according to its capacity, but the production is still bigger here at Itaipú. The construction of the power plant started in 1974 and ended in 1991. It has 18 generators. The dam is around 190 m high and 8 km long. It is at the river Paraná which is the border between Brazil and Paraguay at this place. So in the picture the right part is Brazil, the left part is Paraguay.
The landscape there is really amazing and the power plant is absolutely stunning. Whenever you have the chance i warmly recommend to visit this power plant.
