Research cross-cut drift in the brown-coal mine

The south of France knew the exploitation of many brown-coal mines.
This small concession of Provence knew an intense activity at the 19th century.
With the exhaustion of the mine, works of research was decided about 1900, at little distance from the principal exploitation.
After more than 400 m dug in sandstone, the coal vein was re-found, but it measured only 0,40 m instead of 1,60 in the main mine. The mining company given not of this failure and all works were abandoned
