Steam driven water pump
This centrifugal pump was constructed in 1910 for land drainage at Owston Ferry in Lincolnshire and was one of a pair driven by horizontal steam engines built by the local firm of Marshall of Gainsborough. This one still has the steam engine attached, the second was replaced by a diesel engine in the 1950s. The steam engine is still in working order, but has not been run on steam since around 1960. A preservation group is hoping to get steam to it at some stage, but they have managed to run it using compressed air.
