S.A.R.P.O.M. Oil Refinery - Trecate, Italy
Sarpom (Societą per Azioni Raffinazione Padana Oli Minerali) was born in 1950 in Trecate, a town in the center of the industrial triangle Milano-Torino-Genova. It was the first italian refinery not on the sea. The most important founder of this society was FIAT (the famous cars company of Torino).
The oil arrived (and arrive also now) from the oil facilities in Vado Ligure, near Savona. The Sarpom Refinery society is 74,1% of Esso Italiana S.p.A. and 25,9% of ERG S.p.A. It works about 7 millions tons of oil each year, and 400 workers are inside.
